Industrial Arts and Technology Exhibition 2008 or INATEX 2008 was held during UTM 41st Convocation Carnival which is one of the main events of UTM where the purpose is to showcase new inventions to the public. Two of our staff managed to win the gold medals. The medals was awarded to P.M Dr Ani for her novel process of utilising microwave for membrane synthesis and to Dr Idayu for her invention: Nano Encapsulated Natural Colorant from Planr Bioactive Substances. The theme for 2008 exhibition is Wealth Creation Through Innovative R&D.

Universiti Teknologi Malaysia research students made excellent achievements at the 2nd Asian BioManufacturing Conference Poster Competition, Sheraton Imperial Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia held on the 3 - 4 December 2007. This conference was organised by Inno Biologics Sdn. Bhd., Nilai, Negeri Sembilan. The Best Overall Poster winner cash award of RM 2000 was awarded to Chan Mieow Kee and Nor Azimah Mohd under the supervision of Assoc. Prof Dr. Ani Idris, Dept. of Bioprocess Engineering, Faculty of Chemical and Natural Resources Engineering. They won through their posters with the titles of Effect of Additives on Performance of Dialysis Membrane and An Innovative Method of Baker’s Yeast Invertase Immobilization. |
